Network Cable Testing - Using the Right Device

Computer networks are quite common in almost every office since all offices require the use of computers. Networks come handy for internal data transfer and making internal tasks easier to accomplish. A network can either be a wireless one or a wired network one. Several offices prefer a wired network of computers. This type of network will require the help of an experienced electrician to set up. Some of the common tools necessary to set up a network include tools like a wire crimping tool, cable tester, flashlights, multimedia, etc.

Cable Testings

A good network is one that has been well tested and put in place with all the right set of tools and equipment. A LAN cable tester and a multimeter are very useful tools and a must-have for all electricians. A multimeter can be used to check if a cable is in working order. The way this is done is by connecting the multimeter to either side of the cable and ensuring the meter does not read very high. The reading should ideally be 1 ohm however 2 to 3 ohms is also acceptable. However higher than might be an issue.
